QAI Increases Focus on Bridging the Skill Gap Between Industry and Academia
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, February 02, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- QAI (www.qaiglobalinstitute.com), which is a leading consulting and workforce development organization addressing the space of "Operational Excellence", recently announced it's increased focus on academia. Over the last three decades, QAI, has been working with nations and organizations in helping them develop and enhance their human capital. To address the eminent skill gap thats exists between academia and the industry, QAI now extends it's expertise in WFD to the student community.
According to a NASSCOM report, 10 million people will be employed in IT and ITES jobs by 2010 either directly or indirectly. India produces 400,000 engineering students annually. Out of which, only 100,000 are employable. Given these statistics, NASSCOM projected a shortage of 500,000 skilled knowledge workers by 2010 in the IT industry itself. Various stakeholders like nodal agencies, government, institutes, vocational schools and private organizations are taking multiple measures to address this existing skill gap. Given the experience QAI has in Software Testing, Quality, BPO and Software Engineering, QAI will provide comprehensive learning solutions and certifications in these domains to the students to increase their employability quotient.
With over 140,000 people trained and over 38,000 people certified, QAI today, is recognized as the default international standard in Software Engineering,Quality Management, Business Analysis and Customer Service skill domains.
Certifications provided by QAI have increasingly been adopted by large organizations to give their employees global recognition. Infosys and TCS both have over 4000 professionals each certified on various domains, which is testimony to the increasing trend of adoption at the organization level.
Given this vast expanse of knowledge that QAI has gained, QAI' focus is certain to impact the employability quotient of the partnering colleges and universities.
Commenting on QAI's plans, Navyug Mohnot, CEO, QAI said, "After addressing the workforce development needs in organizations, QAI plans to partner with academic institutions to bridge the existing skill gap. It will work with academia to make the workforce of tomorrow more employable. It will extend it's expertise and body of knowledge to complement the learning experience of the student community in an effort to make them industry ready talent."
