Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt Grand Finale vrooms into Delhi
Online Winner, Prakrit Takkar, Joins Nine Ground Winners for the Grand Finale
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, April 20, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Excitement soars high as Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt vrooms into New Delhi for the Grand Finale. The 10 winners (9 regional winners and one online winner) will compete against each other to win the most coveted title of the year, 'Castrol India's Most Passionate Biker' and win a Yamaha R1 superbike, every bikers dream machine from Castrol Power1's brand ambassador - actor John Abraham. The Castrol Power1 passion Hunt provided the contestants from across the country a great platform to showcase their skills and test their mettle against other passionate and skilled bikers.
The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt challenge was a test of biking skill and control. The nine preliminary events held across the country attracted over 2000 avid contestants. The test was held over four different parameters - biking skills, style quotient, biking knowledge and overall passion for biking. The preliminary rounds had an online component, where the bikers logged on to www.power1hunt.com and created their own personal biker profiles. They could also upload pictures, videos and stories pertaining to biking. Over 3500 bikers registered for the online challenge. The site had 59,760 hits and Prakrit Takkar, was elected as the online winner by 58,824 online votes. Prakrit, who was chosen as the 10th participant, will now compete with the nine other regional winners in the All India Finals on 22nd April 2009 in New Delhi.
Some of the memorable highlights of the Passion Hunt were that of Abhishek Gupta who demonstrated his determination to compete in the All India Finals when he travelled all the way from Agra to each of the preliminary rounds of the Hunt held in Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad to finally bag the Delhi title. Another passionate biker, Baljeet Singh Kochhar, the first runner up in the Pune round went on to participate in the Mumbai leg of the preliminary round to finally clinch the title in Ahmedabad.
Members of the xBhp team, one of India's leading biking communities, has partnered with Castrol to judge the event and determine the finalists and the eventual winner. The team had traveled across India through 17 cities to promote the event and talk to bikers about the passion of biking.
