Mr Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Textiles Minister stated that restructuring of the Technology Upgradation Fund (TUF) Scheme is under active consideration of the government. So TUFS will be re - launched very soon.
He was speaking as the Chief Guest of the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) award distribution function on the eve of 20th November 2015 at Hotel Trident, Mumbai.
Textile Minister expressed his confidence that the recent announcements of the Interest Equalization Schemes, revised DBK rates and the inclusion of additional products/countries will give a boost to the textiles and clothing exports.
Textile Commissioner Dr Kavita Gupta stated that the companies should look at the training programmes as the Government provides Rs 10,000 per trainee to the company that participates in the scheme. The companies would then need to absorb these trainees as employees in the company itself.
Mr R.K. Dalmia – Chairman of TEXPROCIL stated that The Interest Equalization Scheme will provide the much needed boost to exports of cotton textiles as all categories of fabrics and made ups have been covered under the scheme. He urged the government to consider including cotton yarn under the scheme and also to extend the benefit of the scheme to the merchant exporters.
TEXPROCIL Export Awards for 2014-15 were distributed by Mr Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Textiles. This year TEXPROCIL distributed 73 awards in 32 different categories, including the coveted Gold trophy for the highest global exports.
Leading textiles manufacturers & exporters like Welspun Global Brands Ltd, Vardhaman Textiles, Trident Ltd, Alok Industries, Arvind Ltd, Century Textiles, Loyal textiles, GTN Textiles, Premier Mills, Paramount Textiles, SEL Group, Lahoti Overseas were some of the recipients of the awards.
