3 /4 of Companies Struggle to Find Women Candidates to Support Gender Diversity Goals in India

Bangalore, Karnataka, India

MyParichay, a leading Facebook based recruitment platform, today announced the findings from its recently concluded pan-India survey. The survey underscores social recruiting has moved from a trend, to a necessity, where 9 in 10 recruiters believe that a social media based hiring tool will give them a competitive advantage in gender diversity hiring.

85% of Indian companies surveyed mentioned that diversity is crucial to fostering innovation in the workplace. 3 in 4 recruiters struggle to find qualified women candidates to support gender diversity goals.

Today, HR recruiters are faced with the challenge of meeting the diversity goals set by their leadership and attribute those to lack of specialized hiring tools. The objective of this survey was to gauge the need for tools that may support achieving gender diversity goals.

Some of the key findings from the survey are:

1.       Hiring Tool

  • 9 in 10 recruiters believe a Facebook based hiring tool will give them a competitive advantage in gender diversity hiring since most of the users in India are on Facebook – Currently 90 million internet users are active on Facebook.
  • Companies are looking for specialized tools to help them with gender diversity hiring goals.
  • 9 in 10 companies will adopt tools that allow them to target and connect with qualified women professionals
  • Only 2 in 10 companies have specialized tools that allow them to promote gender diversity hiring

2.       Employer Brand

  • Less than half the companies plan and execute brand campaigns to promote gender diversity goals.
  • 4/10 companies have employer branding plans to promote gender diversity and hiring

Corporate India is looking for ways to tackle the challenges faced in gender diversity hiring,” said Mr. Ranjan Sinha, Co-founder and Chairman of MyParichay.
