Enhanced resource efficiency of the retailer’s manpower across 136 stores by 25% annually
Continues to support better merchandise management, as the number of stores scales up
UST Global, an information technology solutions and services company for Global 1000 enterprises today announced that its inventory management solutions have resulted in significant improvement of processes at Shoppers Stop, India's leading fashion retailer. Through a gamut of deployments, UST Global has enabled Shoppers Stop to enhance productivity of its manpower at over 136 stores and improve performance, as it continues to expand its store presence across the country.
UST Global had been contracted by Shoppers Stop in 2009 to support their Merchandise Management System, which they bought from JDA. In the year 2010, Shoppers Stop chose UST for their live ERP upgrade, which UST managed to complete well within stipulated time and with exacting quality. Over these past years, UST has done several system performance improvements, which gave a significant value addition to Shoppers Stop’s business. Some of the major ones are PICS Optimization (aka Perpetual Inventory Counting System), which has resulted in better inventory management and in turn reduced the inventory update task from 4-5 hours to less than 30 minutes and a Style Upload Facility that allows merchandisers to create bulk inventory in a more secure and faster way.
“UST Global has been focused on creating smart retail solutions for some time now and our Retail COE, helps customers make the most of the disruptive technologies available to them. The retail industry in India has tremendous potential now more than ever, because growth is no longer restricted to major cities and there are several Tier-II and Tier–III cities proving to be retail hot-spots. Application of technology will continue to gain momentum in the future as retailers increase transactions across multiple channels,” said Sridhar Chandra, General Manager – India BU at UST Global.
Ranjit Satyanath, Customer Care Associate & Sr. General Manager, Solutions & Technology, Shoppers Stop Ltd. said, ”As technology comes to the forefront of our industry, we are pleased with the results, we have seen from our engagement with UST Global. With the number of stores that doubled over the last three years, UST Global has been able to cater to our requirements without any additional costs to Shoppers Stop.”
He further added, “It is through innovations such as these that we have been able to increase our store presence with ease over the past couple of years. With the support of UST Global in all our IT initiatives, we have been awarded the Images Most Admired Retailer of the Year for Effective Technology Usage at IRF 2013 and we hope to continue this enduring relationship in the future as well.”
