Brandscope Pty. Ltd, an Australia-based company focused on building cloud-based B2B platforms, partnered with Josh Software, a recognized expert in building Ruby based solutions, to build a cloud-based B2B platform solution to streamline and maximize the selling process for suppliers and agents to independent fashion and Action Sports web retail brands, both in Australia and overseas. This platform offers an exclusive and dynamic online tool wherein a retailer can place order and buy brands by using the online catalogue of the supplier in real time. Retail manufacturers can use this platform to manage brands, suppliers and retailers with a greater efficiency by showing an array of products to retailers, select products, and place orders in one go. This online platform aims to reduce the logistical timelines between the three entities and ease business transactions in this sector. Understanding the magnitude of the solution for the retail industry in Australia, the Australian Government supported this initiative to build a Ruby on Rails framework solution for the cloud-based online platform.
Having worked on projects around the world to provide Rails framework online solutions, Josh Software readily took the challenge to build a dynamic Internet solution to support the Australian Apparel & Fashion Industry. Originally, the project started in 2010, but after attempting to build the solution with other frameworks, Brandscope finally approached Josh Software to build the solution in the Ruby language. After getting under the skin of the requirement, the Josh Software team decided to reengineer the entire code and was able to turnaround a high performance solution within 5 months allowing the project to go live on the scheduled date with more than 10,000 catalogue items. The solution endowed the online platform with a flexible and innately scalable environment.
