SABIC is certified ‘Top Employers 2014’ in China, India, South Korea, Japan and Singapore and ‘Top Employers Asia Pacific 2014’ by Top Employers Institute. With this latest certification, SABIC has received the ‘Top Employers’ certification for four consecutive years in China and seven consecutive years in the Netherlands. This is the first time Top Employers Institute is awarding the ‘Top Employers Asia Pacific’ certification.
“SABIC believes that the true mark of a top employer is in creating Chemistry that matters™ with our employees, customers, partners and communities to enable long term success. We relentlessly aim to provide a foundation for our employees to operate ethically and an environment to nurture innovation. Our employees play a key role in conceptualizing and delivering our CSR programs in strengthening our community relationships across the region,” said Janardhanan Ramanujalu, Vice President, SABIC South Asia & ANZ.
“Our people are our most vital asset. The endorsement of our Human Resources management processes across the region is a testament of SABIC’s commitment to nurture and create optimal employee conditions that support the professional and personal development of our people,” said Li Lei, Vice President, SABIC North Asia.
SABIC’s Employment Value Proposition (EVP) seeks an alignment with its corporate strategy; however, it aspires to be a leader rather than a follower in the market. SABIC focuses on developing different segments in its organization: early career, middle managers and senior managers. Programs focusing mainly on change management, change leadership and coaching are designed and tailored for each segment.
Training is also a key element in SABIC’s EVP. In 2013 approximately two-thirds of the employees were developed in soft skills, leadership skills, functional expertise and also in industry programs.
The annual international research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute, including an audit of Top Employers Institute’s processes by Grant Thornton, an independent audit, tax and advisory firm, recognizes leading employers around the world: companies that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organization, and which strive to continuously optimize employment practices. SABIC is proud to be one of the select companies to achieve the exclusive Top Employers Asia Pacific 2014 certification.
