Ashoka Buildcon Ltd bags 'Infrastructure Company of the Year' Award


Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Thursday, October 03, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Ashoka Buildcon Limited ('Ashoka') has been awarded the 'Infrastructure Company of the Year' during the Construction Week India Awards 2013.
The winners were chosen by a 15 member jury comprising of dignitaries and stalwarts from the infrastructure sector.

This was the 3rd Construction Week India awards function organized by ITP Publishing and Construction Week which included 15 Award Categories, 390-plus nominations and participation of Infrastructure and real estate companies from across India.

Ashoka is one of the leading BOT based Infrastructure Players in the Country with presence across India. It has executed prestigious highway projects for National Highways Authority of India. Recently Ashoka has signed the Concession Agreement for the Chennai Outer Ring Road Project of TNRDC.

Ashoka is known for executing challenging projects, which includes the completion of 2 bridges across River Roopnarayan in West Bengal (part of the Rs. 2000 Crore worth DhunkuniKharagpur Project). These bridges posed serious geographical challenges, yet Ashoka completed them 18 months ahead of the scheduled completion date.

The company is also involved in the power transmission and distribution sector. Recently it has bagged projects worth approximately Rs 500 crores for MSEDCL and approximately Rs 600 Crores for Tamil Nadu.

The company's order book presently stands at Rs. 4,100 crores.

Other companies awarded at the function included Tata Housing, Godrej Properties, HCC, L&T and SPML Infra in various other categories.
