HelpYourNGO Announces Rupees 5 lakh of Donations for NGOs with Rupees 50,000 for the Winning NGO


Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Friday, January 11, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- HelpYourNGO.com announces a donation of Rs 1,000 to every NGO that uploads its financial data on their web site and sends the financials of the past two years to Info@HelpYourNGO.com.

In addition to the Rs 1,000 that will be given to every NGO which submits its data, HelpYourNGO will hold a lucky draw on Thursday, January 24, 2013 for qualifying NGOs.

The lucky draw winners will be picked by Mr Keki Mistry, Vice Chairman & CEO, HDFC Limited and overseen by an independent auditor.

There will be a total of 10 prizes for the lucky draw:

The 1st NGO selected in the lucky draw will get a total donation of Rupees 50,000.
The 2nd NGO will get a total donation of Rupees 25,000.
The 3rd NGO will get a total donation of Rupees 20,000.
Seven other NGOs will get total donations of Rupees 10,000 each.

All prize winners will be announced on the web site www.HelpYourNGO.com.

All donation cheques will be disbursed by Monday, January 28, 2013.

HelpYourNGO.com will encourage NGOs to be more transparent and open about their sources and uses of funds.

Non-government organisations - commonly referred to as NGOs - are trying to step in where governments have failed. But, like many government agencies, NGOs don't always enjoy a good reputation. Despite the bad press and terrible image that many NGOs have, it is important that we don't paint all NGOs with that same brush of mistrust. It is important that we find ways to sift the "good" from the "bad" and facilitate the growth of the "good" NGOs.

How to qualify for the donation:


To qualify for the donations and the grand prizes of Rs 50,000; Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 - or the donation of Rs 1,000 - an NGO will need to:

1) Upload its financial data on http://www.HelpYourNGO.com/register.

2) Post the physical copies/original of the two most recent Audited Annual Reports of their NGO to HelpYourNGO (the Audited Annual Reports should contain detailed financial data for any of the following 3 financial years: Year-ending March 2009, March 2010, March 2011, or March 2012);

3) Complete this self-registration process by Monday, January 21, 2013.
