(BW)(VA-FCEDA)Fairfax County, Virginia, and Brickwork India Host 11 February Event in Bangalore to Spotlight US Market-Entry Opportunities for Indian Companies
Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) --
The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) and its Bangalore-based representatives at Brickwork India are presenting an 11 February event to highlight US market-entry opportunities for Indian firms in the information technology, software development, aerospace, defense, health IT, business-process management and mobile communications sectors.
The seminar, "Business Opportunities in the US: 2013 Trends," will be held at Brickwork India's office in Bangalore. About 50 executives are expected to attend. The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and NEWGEN Software are partners for the event.
Highlights of the seminar include a presentation by Vivek Kulkarni, chairman, Brickwork India, on business opportunities in the US market. FCEDA International Business Development Manager Asher Kotz will speak on Fairfax County, which is just outside Washington, DC, as a gateway to the US market. The event also will feature a case study of NEWGEN Software, which is based in Bangalore and established its US headquarters in Fairfax County. "We have recently expanded our office in Fairfax County with more sales, support and delivery personnel, and we also are proud to hire veterans."
Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA, said Indian companies would benefit from attending the event. "India is home to world-class companies that are looking for a way to expand into the US market, and the Bangalore event will highlight the kinds of opportunities that exist in Fairfax County and an example of an Indian company that has taken advantage of the opportunities," he said.
Almost 400 foreign-owned companies, including more than 25 from India, have a presence in Fairfax County. The FCEDA has had an office in Bangalore since 2004 to work with Indian companies interested in expanding in the US.
"In spite of the recent recession, the United States continues its enviable economic position in the world due to its outstanding research, educational and democratic institutions. Any knowledge-based firm must have its presence in the US to become well known, and Fairfax County is the right place for an Indian business to be in the US because of strong expected job growth," Kulkarni said.
Time magazine called Fairfax County, just outside Washington, D.C., "one of the great economic success stories of our time."
