MAIT Unveils Study on Tablets Proliferation in India


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- -- Celebrates 30 Years of its dedicated service

MAIT, the apex body representing the interests of IT hardware industry in India completes 30 years of its dedicated service to the nation and the IT industry and is celebrating its Annual Day on the 19th October 2012 in New Delhi.

On the momentous occasion, Prof K V Thomas, Hon'ble Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution - Independent Charge has kindly consented to unveil the MAIT-IMRB Tablet Study and deliver the Inaugural Address. The detailed findings of the Study will also be shared during the event.

The Hon'ble Minister will also honour the Sarpanch and Students of a few Panchayats by giving them a Tablet each in order to give them access to the plethora of Government services.

Shri Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission has also confirmed to deliver the Presidential Address in the Inaugural Session.

Later in the evening, Secretaries' Panel Discussion is planned, where senior officials from the Central Government departments like DeitY, Planning Commission, Telecom and HRD will discuss the "Changing Paradigm of Device Usage in India" at length.

Shri N Ravi Shanker, Administrator - USO Fund, Department of Telecom, Ms S Radha Chauhan, Jt. Secretary-Secondary Education, Ministry of HRD, Dr Rajendra Kumar, Jt. Secretary-eGov, Department of Electronics & IT and Dr C Muralikrishna Kumar, Senior Advisor - ICT, Planning Commission have kindly consented to grace the occasion by their august presence in the Evening Session.
