Inauguration of EMMA Expo India, a four-day exhibition showcasing the world's cutting edge technology products, machinery tools and auto parts

Bangalore, Karnataka, India, Thursday, September 27, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- The 6th annual EMMA Expo was inaugurated here at Bangalore concurrently with the launch of IMS 2012. The EMMA Expo, a four-day exposition that offers Taiwan's best consumer electronics & technology products was organized by Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), along with Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) and Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers' Association (TTVMA). The exhibition will showcase Taiwan's best electronic & ICT products, machinery, molds, auto-parts, food-processing and green technology to the Indian market. This year's EMMA Expo India has been scheduled from September 27 to September 30, 2012.

The event was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri. Jagadish Shettar in the presence of prestigious delegates from Taiwan and India, namely, Mr. Shih-Chao Cho, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs, Taiwan Government; Mr. Wayne W. Wu, Deputy Chairman, Taipei World Trade Center and Mr. H.V.S Krishna, Chairman - Organizing Committee, IMS 2012. The inauguration was also felicitated by Shri. Anand Mahindra, Chairman & Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited; Mr. Ajay Kanwal, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, Taiwa and Mr. K.V. Srinivasan, CEO, Reliance Commercial Finance.

EMMA 2011 in Chennai generated on-site business worth US$ 20.9 million (Representing 16% growth on 2010) and attracted top-of-the industrial players from Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Following this huge success of last year's show, this year will witness 131 exhibitors which includes 18 publicly listed companies such as Cheng Shin Rubber (owns world's famous Maxxis Tires), Asus, Adata, Avermedia, BenQ, Transcend and Tatung Electronics.

The top five Taiwan investments in India are :

-- China Steel (Si-containing steel - US$ 180 million)
-- APACHE (Footwear - US$ 125million)
-- Honai Group (Handset parts - US$ 110million)
-- FengTay Group (Footwear-US$ 77million)
-- Wintek Corporation (Panel - US$ 50million)


Some of the key incorporations at EMMA Expo 2012 include:

-- The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion is where buyers can check out 100 top-of-the-line products from 32 leading Taiwan brands including hTC, Asus, Aver, Avision, D-link, Gigabyte, Cashido, Karma, Strength Master . These companies build 'Excellent Lifestyles' for Indian consumers.
-- The Taiwan Trade Pavilion which showcases 50 star products from Taiwan's A-Listed companies. Visitors are provided with online services like "iMeeting service", iMatch Service", and "iSourcing Service" to locate their desired suppliers and products. This pavilion has traveled around the world such as Paris, Frankfurt and Las Vegas is at Bangalore, this year
-- This year's latest addition is the inclusion of Taiwan Higher Education Exposition which represents 14 top Taiwan universities.
