Top 10 Finalists of 2012 Taiwan Excellence SmarTEST Gear Up for Stage Two Challenges

The 2012 Taiwan Excellence SmarTEST! is an annual big idea campaign organized by Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). 31 Taiwan Excellence home & living brands, such as Asus, D-Link, BenQ, Transcend, etc., also partnered up with TAITRA to join the SmarTEST!, offering an armful of Taiwan Excellence Award-winning products in Stage 2. Each of the top 10 finalists will soon receive an official parcel from the SmarTEST! Committee, which will equip them with Taiwan Excellence products and help get ready for Stage Two.

During the upcoming 8 challenges in Stage 2, these contestants only have a couple days to brainstorm and develop genuine, out-of-the-box, and impressive applications by making use of these products. These 10 finalists are allowed to call and gain supports from friends, colleagues, classmates, family, online networks, or even the advice from IT Travelers from last year. The contestants must videotape and upload their solution towards each challenge to the SmarTEST! website to impress and win the favor of supporters in India. Their performance will be scored based on the votes they receive from online followers, Taiwan brand partners, and the SmarTEST! Committee. The contestant with the lowest score will be eliminated at the end of each challenge. AXN eBuzz will also report on the top 10 winners of The SmarTEST! on August 10th, and update the elimination progress on a bi-weekly basis.
