Frost & Sullivan Announces Top 5 Companies Moving in the Right Direction Towards Business Sustainability
An Annual List on Major Competitive Differentiators identified during the Assessments of The Economic Times - India Manufacturing Excellence Awards - In Partnership with Frost & Sullivan
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Monday, March 12, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- Frost & Sullivan has been routinely assessing competent sites of organized sector companies over the last 10 years. From 2009, Frost & Sullivan and The Economic Times have collaborated to jointly host the India Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
These assessments have brought to light five major competitive differentiators. Frost & Sullivan believes that these will help companies build their competitive advantage. Thus, customer focus, cost reduction, quality deployment, and safety deployment and innovation adaptation are the identified differentiators. Commencing this year, Frost & Sullivan will publish an annual list of the Top 5 companies assessed during the previous calendar year, for each of the major competitive differentiators.
Based on 2011 Assessments, The Top 5 Companies in each of the above categories are:
Indian companies are moving towards adopting sustainable business practices that will help them to differentiate from competition and build a competitive advantage over time.
According to Raghavendra Rao, Vice President, Manufacturing and Process Consulting Practice, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia, Middle East and North Africa, "While cost, quality, innovation and lead times can be said to be generic differentiators, sustainability in these come by customer focus, effective safety deployment, environment empathy and developing internal competence. Quite clearly, it is imperative for companies to identify their long-term prerogatives from amongst these and work on developing/sustaining the same."
"There is an overwhelming need today to learn from good practices and then strive to go beyond. True competitive character is defined as learning from others' strengths and delivering more and more value to one's customer. Such organizations can be termed as favorably "investible" in the long-term; one that is doing all the right things right," concludes Raghavendra Rao.
Frost & Sullivan has also prepared a market insight authored by Raghavendra Rao, titled 'Success to Business Sustainability: Doing the Right Things Consistently Right'. This market insight delves on the unique things a few companies do right in each of the above areas (identified differentiators); which can be role models that others can replicate.
