Praj Announces Winners of Maha-Intrapreneur Award 2011


Pune, Maharashtra, India, Thursday, December 01, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- Praj Industries, global biofuels technology and engineering Company announced the names of winners of the 'Maha-Intrapreneur Awards 2011'. This award honors and recognizes the efforts of 'Intrapreneurs' or 'Corporate Entrepreneurs' who put in their hard-work and efforts in accelerate the growth and profit of their companies. This year too, amongst a very competitive group of contestants, 6 most talented 'Intrapreneurs' have been selected by the distinguished jury1. The awards have been instituted by Praj in association with Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM,Pune), who are the knowledge partners in this initiative.

The awards will be presented in an award function on December 24th, 2011 at the hands of Chief Guest Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman and Managing Director, Force Motors Limited & President, MCCIA in the presence of Pramod Chaudhari, Executive Chairman, Praj Industries Limited.

Lifetime Achievement Award:

A Lifetime Achievement Award is being conferred on the well known Economist Dr. Vijay Kelkar, who has held prominent positions in the Central Government including the Planning Commission (1973-77) and Commerce Ministry (1977) as Economic Adviser. He was the Secretary to the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister between 1985 and 1988. In 1994, he was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum. He was made Finance Secretary in 1998. Dr. Kelkar recently completed his term as Chairman, Finance Commission, Government of India.

On International Fora, he was Executive Director in the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He was the Director & Coordinator, International Trade Division of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Geneva, Switzerland, 1991-1994. Dr. Vijay Kelkar has been elected Chairman, Board of the Forum of Federations, Ottawa, Canada, with effect from January 1, 2010.

He is currently the Chairman of National Stock Exchange of India Limited, Mumbai. He was conferred the Padma Vibhushan in January 2011, for his distinguished and exceptional service to the Nation.

Each Awardee in Category A will be presented a trophy of "Praj Maha-Intrapreneur Award", "Certificate of Appreciation" and Fellowship of upto Rs. 100,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) to attend Executive Development Programme from any reputed institute in India.
Each Awardee in Category B will be presented a trophy of "Praj Maha-Intrapreneur Award", "Certificate of Appreciation" and Rs. 100,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) will be awarded to the individual winners/ organization.
