University confers Honorary Doctorate upon Mr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India
Award recognizes significant contribution made by Alok Bharadwaj to Indian Industry
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate degree by Chitkara University; a Chandigarh based leading university of Himachal Pradesh & Punjab. The honor is in recognition of Mr. Bharadwaj's contribution to Indian business as a leader, marketer and a brand evangelist. Mr. Bharadwaj was conferred the honor at a recent event held in New Delhi. The symbolic ceremonial convocation walk will happen in the last week of Jan 2012 in Chandigarh.
The University awarded the honorary doctorate to select individuals who have made significant contribution to governance, society, industry and the nation. The university's academic council and management board under the regulation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) review the profiles of nominees for the award before making a final recommendation. The Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy was awarded by Chancellor Dr. Ashok Chitkara along with Vice Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara and the registrar of the university. The ceremony was attended by eminent audience from the industry.
