DSIJ's Investor Awareness Programmes now in Rajasthan
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Friday, March 18, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- In celebration of its silver jubilee, Dalal Street Investment Journal, India's No 1 investment magazine, has embarked on a nationwide programme on educating the potential stock market investors on benefits of investing. DSIJ is organising Investor Awareness Programmes (IAP) across 29 cities covering 12 states.
The IAPs kicked off in a big way from Punjab and Bihar in the first week of March. The success of the programme and the need for more of such can be seen from the huge response that it received from the participants. People participated in to gather crucial information about the stock market and stock investing.
So far 17 cities have been covered, led by two teams, Team A and Team B.
Team A, led by Mr Gaurav Singh and Mr Prasanna Bidkar from DSIJ along with Mr Moloy Biswas and Mr Ajit Manjure from CDSL and Mr Abhishek Hingorani from Reliance Securities, covered the following cities: Patna, Gangtok, Siliguri, Asansol, Ranchi, Raipur, Chhindwara, Bhopal and Indore. Team A will cover the following cities by March end: Anand, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, and Bhuj.
Team B, led by Mr Monish Mehta and Mr Amit Bhanot from DSIJ along with Mr Inderjit Singh, Mr Yeshwant Gupta from CDSL and Mr Kshitij Kulkarni from Reliance Securities, covered the following cities: Ferozpur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Patiala, Chandigarh, Ambala, Rohtak, Sri Ganga Nagar and Jaipur. Today Team B is organising IAP at Bhilwara and will cover the following cities by March end: Bhilwara, Meerut, New Delhi, Varanasi, Lucknow and Kanpur.

Kicking off the first session by providing some very interesting insights into the world of investments, the presentation from DSIJ explained various concepts like what is a share, stock exchange, the role of SEBI, primary and secondary markets, and clarified many myths surrounding the world of investments. The process enlightened the audience with interesting examples as well. There are also discussions about the current market conditions and where the market is currently poised and how equity stacks up against the other asset classes.
Speakers representing CDSL provided insight into the pay-in / pay-out system, demat functioning, investor protection, etc. All these add good value to the investors' overall experience of stock market investing.
