Tejas Networks Acquires Israeli Firm - Ethos Networks to Boost its Ethernet Products

Bangalore, Karnataka, India and Tel Aviv, Israel, Tuesday, June 08, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- Tejas Networks Ltd., a leader in next-generation optical networking products, announced today that it has acquired Ethos Networks, a high-technology company from Israel, specializing in Carrier Ethernet and Network management products. This deal is the first acquisition of an Israeli high-tech company by an Indian company. The Ethos acquisition will augment Tejas' product offerings in the packet optical space and enhance its Future Proof Transport Architecture (FPTATM) solution.

Commenting on the deal, Sanjay Nayak, CEO & MD, Tejas Networks said, "This acquisition completes our portfolio in offering best-in-class, end-to-end multi-service solution for SDH/SONET, Carrier Ethernet and hybrid transmission architectures and a seamless Network Management Software (NMS) suite. Our new portfolio will enable our customers to deploy equipment that can concurrently support legacy services and packet services, and at the same time gracefully evolve to an all packet infrastructure of the future without any service disruption and costly rip-and-replace."

"We are excited to integrate a very talented Ethos team, which has created the highly differentiated Carrier Ethernet products and industry-leading Network Management Software into the Tejas team. Over the last ten years, Tejas has evolved into global company serving all major telecom carriers in India and several international customers spread over 50 countries. This acquisition also provides us with sales presence in Europe, which has a high adoption potential for new packet-based technologies," added Sanjay Nayak

Eli Sananes, VP, Ethos Networks, who will be the General Manager of Tejas' Israel operations said, "Tejas Networks is a fast-growing, innovation-driven company that is counted amongst the leading optical networking companies in the world. We are extremely excited to be a part of Tejas Networks and look forward to contributing to their phenomenal growth in future."
