LG Electronics Announces a Nationwide Hunt for Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest
New Delhi, Delhi, India, Wednesday, June 30, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- . The Mallika-E-Kitchen cooking contest will be organized in around 100 cities in India
. 18 finalists selected in the second round to compete at the Grand Finale in New Delhi
. The winner will get a chance to participate in the International contest organized by LG in September 2010
LG Electronics, the world's leading brand in consumer durables, has announced a nationwide hunt for its unique cooking contest, Mallika-E-Kitchen. The contest has been organized, for women in the age group of 18 years and above, to take their cooking skills to an international platform.
Mallika-E-Kitchen is a three stage cooking contest which will be organised nationwide over a period of three months. The contest will be organized in around 100 cities starting from July till mid September. It will offer a unique opportunity to the women across the country to exhibit their talent and get a chance to demonstrate their skills on a global platform.

With such a unique concept, LG Electronics is bullish to further strengthen its presence in the Home Appliances segment. Mallika-E-Kitchen is an innovative concept with contests run countrywide to find out the best cooking talent. It will provide an opportunity to the winner to participate in the International contest organized by LG in September 2010.
The Mallika-e-kitchen winner of 2009 Ms. Taru Peshawariya from Amritsar was rewarded with a LG Side by side refrigerator by LG. The first and second runner-ups Ms Shweta Thakuriya (Jodhpur) & Ms Uma Vijaykumar (Hyderabad) was rewarded with a Front and Top Loading Washing Machine respectively.
About Mallika-e-Kitchen contest:
To participate, one needs to fill up and submit a registration form available at select LG Dealers, LG Branch Offices. The form is also available on LG India website. Short listed candidates will be contacted by LG representative for the confirmation of venue and date for Round 1. On the contest date, the participant needs to bring her microwave cooked dish along with the recipe. If the recipe is selected by panel of judges on set parameters, then the person qualifies for the Regional level.
The first round is going to be held in around 100 cities procuring participation from around 3000 participants. The winners of the first round will be taken to the second round at the 9 regional centres (Maharashtra+Goa, Gujrat, MP+ Chatisgarh, Delhi+Rajasthan, UP+Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu+Kerela, Andhra Pradesh+Karnataka, Punjab+Haryana & Eastern India). Finally the 18 winners from 9 zones will compete against each other in grand finale in New Delhi in September. The journey to becoming Cooking Queen doesn't end here. The National Winner may get a chance to participate in the Global contest in South Korea by LG in September 2010.
