Semler Research Center Pvt. Ltd. Appoints Dr. Krathish Bopanna as The President & Executive Director


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, May 03, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- Semler Research Centre Pvt., Ltd. (SRC), a leading contract research organisation & subsidiary of Semler Group, today announced the appointment of Dr Krathish Bopanna as President and Executive Director. In this role, Dr Bopanna is responsible for the overall performance of SRC in India and US across its diverse business segments. Dr Bopanna will primarily be based in Bangalore, India, and he will also have an office at the Corporate HQ in North Hollywood, CA, USA.

Prior to joining SRC, Dr Bopanna was with Manipal Acunova as the Senior Vice President, Clinical Development. With over 15 year's pharmaceutical experience, Dr Bopanna has served leading positions in companies like Astra Zeneca and Tata Consulting Services. Dr. Bopanna is a trained pharmacologist and obtained his doctorate degree in psychopharmacology from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India and Doctor of Science in biochemical pharmacology from International University of Washington, Washington DC, USA. Dr. Bopanna is a thought leader in clinical research and currently is General Secretary of Indian Society of Clinical Research as well as Advisory council member of DIA.

The American Biological Institute, Inc., North Carolina, USA has nominated Dr. Bopanna as the "Man of the Year 2002". Dr. Bopanna was also chosen as one of the "2000 Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century" in October 2002, by the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge. He has contributed to over 35 publications, speaker in more than 100 presentations and has authored 4 chapters in academic text books as well. Currently he is the editor in 2 journals and a referee in 4 journals. Dr. Bopanna has mentored over 25 students for their Postgraduate program and a PhD examiner in 4 universities.
