FutureCarbon Showing for the First Time at JEC Composites 2010 in Paris

Bayreuth, Germany, Thursday, April 08, 2010 -- (Business Wire India) -- A heated coating as easily applied to a vast variety of surfaces of any geometry as standard acrylic paint. And a granulate of carbon nanotubes that disperses as simply in fluids as soluble coffee powder in hot water. These are among the innovative products that FutureCarbon is exhibiting at JEC Composites 2010 in Paris from April 13 to April 15.

There are just two focal developments in the product portfolio of the Bayreuth-based company, presented at booth F65 in hall 1.2. The first of them, Carbo e-Therm, is an electrically heated coating based on carbon nanomaterials. Carbo e-Therm can be applied like paint to any surface, and operated on a non-hazardous small voltage of, for example 12 or 24 volts. Compared to conventional heating systems the radiation of heat from a Carbo e-Therm coating is absolutely even and without any hot spots. Carbo e-Therm is already in use in a whole number of applications such as panel heating for automobiles, as floor heating or wall heating.

In CarboGran, FutureCarbon is presenting a dry and dustfree granulate of carbon nanotubes. CarboGran is characterized by excellent solubility. Unlike standard carbon nanotubes it disperses direct in very different liquids such as water, alcohol, ethylene glycol and similar solvents. For the first time, direct further processing with conventional mixer apparatus and without the effort of predispersion, has been enabled. Depending on how the granulate is dosed, specific electrical and mechanical properties can be created in the end-product, such as coatings, sealants and adhesives, varnishes or conducting plastic flooring.

About FutureCarbon

FutureCarbon specializes in the development and manufacture of carbon nanomaterials and their refinement into so called carbon supercomposites as primary products for industrial further processing. Carbon supercomposites are composite materials that evolve the special properties of carbon nanomaterials in the macroscopic world of real applications. All of our materials are manufactured on an industrial scale.
