Members of the European Parliament pay their condolences to the Indian Prime Minister for One Year of 26/11
Brussels, United States, Tuesday, December 01, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Members of the European Parliament and Members of the South Asia Peace Forum paid their condolences to the Prime Minister of India Shri Manmohan Singh for the massacre done by terrorists last year in Mumbai.
The German Member of the European Parliament Alexander Alvaro for example expressed his solidarity in a personal letter to the Indian Prime Minister. Alvaro wrote words of support and honoured the memory of those who survived, revering their bravery and dignity.
The Hungarian Member of the European Parliament Béla Glattfelder, who himself was present in Mumbai in the same hotel the terrorists attacked, supports the notion of the European Union to increase the international pressure on states, like Pakistan, who are training terrorists on their soil, in order for terrorist activities to be stopped and curbed.
These letters of support were well received by the Prime Minister of India and showed the commitment of the European Union in having India as a key ally in South Asia in the ongoing global struggle against terrorism.
