The Digit Zero1 Awards 2009 Announced


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Friday, December 11, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- Digit©, India's most read technology magazine (source IRS:2009), published the winners of their coveted Zero1 AwardsT 2009 in their December 2009 issue that released today. Zero 1 Awards recognize the best in various products categories based on lab tests and reviews of hundreds of tech products launched throughout the year.

In each category, Digit awarded the products a Best Performer Award and a Best Buy Award.

Some new categories were also added such as cell phones (best performers: Nokia N96 & Blackberry Curve 8900 in different sub-categories), HDTVs (best performer: LG 42-LG80FR), digital cameras (best performers: Canon EOS 50D for dSLR and Canon PowerShot SX200 IS for point & shoot), camcorders (best performer: Sony XR100-E), portable media players (best performer: Apple iPod Classic) and Blu-ray/DVD players (best performer: Sony BDP-S360).

The awards are keenly awaited by both manufacturers and customers being the only 'test based' awards in Indian tech industry.

Every year, since 2001, after rigorous testing of technology products, the Digit Test Centre® awards the winners of each technology category with a Zero1 Award. In order to account for new launches through the year, after the month in which Digit tests a category, every November, Digit re-tests the newly launched products that could threaten the existing Performance and Best Buy winners. The results are then analysed, and one winner is picked. Digit then issues certificates and trophies to the products in recognition of this notable achievement.
