New Delhi, Delhi, India, Wednesday, August 12, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- The government on Tuesday approved media stalwart Rajat Sharma's next 24-hour news channel, India TV Wiz. The approval means that Mr Sharma's Independent News Service (INS) can now launch his next dream project, a premium news channel in Hindi and English.

Wiz is the first important 24-hour news channel to be approved under UPA-II.

INS will position Wiz as a formidable twin to market-leader India TV.
