Bihar Government Designates Jagran Solutions to Activate "Rural Health Mission Program"


New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, July 30, 2009 -- (Business Wire India) -- With an Endeavour to offer primary medical facilities to the needy & poor in remotest corners of Bihar, the state Government has appointed Jagran Solutions, a New Age Marketing Agency to roll out its Rural Health mission programme. This is an important part of the central government's National Rural Health Mission (NHRM), which would provide medical facilities to the far-flung areas of the state.

Taking this initiative forward, Jagran Solutions created Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) named "Arogya Rath" that travel and provide medical facilities to the rural population at the block and district level.

Ambika Sharma, National Head, Jagran Solutions, says, "These mobile units will reach to the remotest areas to provide health care to the people of Bihar. They will provide the same facilities as provided by a basic hospital".

These air-conditioned Mobile Medical Units are equipped with facilities for pathological tests, X-Ray, ECG, and O.T. Table with Standard Accessories, Dressing Trolley/Instrument Trolley, and Oxygen Cylinder besides having the facility for conducting emergency operation. Each of these units will be accompanied by a doctor, a nurse, an X-Ray technician, a lab attendant, a pharmacist, an operation theatre assistant and a driver. The mini mobile hospital is equipped with diagnostic machines life saving drugs. 100-120 patients will be attended per day by each of these mobile medical units".

Services offered will include free General OPD/ Doctor Consultation, free Drugs- Free dispensation of medicines as per the list prescribed by government, emergency services during epidemic and disasters, diagnosis, referral and rehabilitation for non-communicable diseases, eye examinations, ENT examination, HIV testing, and many others.

This initiative has been taken by the government with the vision to improve the availability and accessibility of quality healthcare facilities for the people, especially those residing in the remotest areas. This campaign was flagged off in July and will run for a minimum of three years.
