Fidelity Launches Innovative Volatility Tool
Provides Longer Term Context to Current Market Events, Interactive Micro Site at www.fidelity.co.in

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Monday, November 17, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Fidelity today launched an innovative volatility tool designed to help advisers and investors put the current market uncertainty in the context of a longer term perspective. Launched at a time when investors have been unnerved by extreme volatility in the markets, Fidelity's volatility tool demonstrates the importance of longer term investing and staying focussed on financial goals.

The interactive micro site can be accessed at www.fidelity.co.in and has timeless investing truths, up-to-date data and dynamic graphics. Its simple design is visually engaging and showcases several scenarios and themes that will help educate advisers and investors about volatility. The web site has three tools that deal with different aspects of market volatility.

Timing the market

It is impossible to predict the best days and worst days in the stock market and missing just a few days of good performance can significantly reduce your overall return. This tool helps you establish how much you could lose on a notional investment of Rs. 1 lakh if you missed the 10, 20, 30 and 40 best days in the Indian market over a ten-year period.

Unpredictable returns

Generally, the longer you remain invested, the more predictable your returns become. This tool helps you look at how volatility increases or dips as investments are held over a one-year to a ten-year period.

Market crises

No matter how severe the crisis, markets always recover. This section allows you to check out how long the market took to return to its previous level after various crises.

"At a time when markets are unpredictable and investors are nervous about investing, it is important to provide information that puts current market events in to a longer-term perspective," said Ashu Suyash, Managing Director and Country Head - India, Fidelity International. "Our volatility web site provides tools that demonstrate why the basic principles of investing continue to make sense when investing in volatile times, especially those of investing for the long term and staying focussed on financial goals."

Other than India, the web site also provides similar tools for other markets including Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada to give investors a view of market behaviour across geographies. Investors visiting the volatility web site can also download a free copy of Fidelity's latest investor guide, "Making Sense of Markets".

Sehwag and Dhoni in the Race for the Castrol Indian Cricketer of the Year

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Monday, November 17, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Virender Sehwag and Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni completed a fruitful season for India with some spectacular knocks that has propelled them to the top of the list for the Castrol Awards for Cricketing Excellence for the period January 2008 - December 2008.

Starting with the Asia Cup in June 2008, Sehwag marked a blistering return to form in one-day international cricket, with a pulsating century against Pakistan in the group stages. This was followed by a quick-fire knock of 60 in the Finals which nearly upset the defending champions Sri Lanka.

The 'Nawab of Najafgarh' was in his element during India's torrid Test tour of Sri Lanka, excelling with a scintillating double century against the spin duo of Murali and Mendis. Sehwag's consistent run in Test cricket carried on to the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India, with some solid starts at the top of the order. These performances firmly place him at the number 1 slot for the Castrol Awards for Cricketing Excellence, with 54 points.

Close on his heels, with 50 points, is India's 'Captain Courageous' and new age poster boy, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whose innovative and inspirational leadership helped India regain the Border-Gavaskar trophy by a convincing 2-0 margin.

Team India's young guns, and the future nucleus of the team, captured the other 3 slots among the top 5, with match-winning efforts. Harbhajan Singh found some fine bowling rhythm against the Australians, picking up crucial wickets in the Mohali and Nagpur Tests, and chipping in with match turning half centuries in Bangalore and Nagpur, to grab the third position with 43 points.

The Delhi Duo of Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma dominated the Australia series with performances symbolic of their overwhelming cricketing talent. Gambhir was the top scorer with 463 runs including a fine double century on his home ground, to capture the 4th spot with 41 points.

Ishant Sharma, India's new fast bowling sensation, stormed away to 15 wickets in the Australia Test series, displaying phenomenal pace and accuracy on placid and docile Indian tracks, to take the 5th spot for the Castrol Awards with 39 points.

With the India - England series going on, it will be a really exciting battle between Sehwag and Dhoni for the Castrol Indian Cricketer of the Year Award. As has been done over the years, the top five players on points will form the shortlist of the finalists and the Award for the Castrol Indian Cricketer of the Year will be based on votes cast by all Indian cricketers - past and present.

The annual CASTROL AWARDS FOR CRICKETING EXCELLENCE were instituted in 1997-98. The rating system takes into account performances by Indian cricketers in international matches during the calendar year. Previous recipients of the CASTROL INDIAN CRICKETER OF THE YEAR AWARD are Sachin Tendulkar (1997-98, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2003-04 - shared) and Rahul Dravid (1998-99, 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04 - shared and 2004-05).

Early this year, Castrol also initiated the Castrol Asian Cricketer of the Year Award which was won by Sourav Ganguly.

Microsoft Strengthens its High Performance Computing Proposition with Launch of Windows HPC Server 2008
Windows HPC Server 2008 Gears to Deliver a Productive and Cost-Effective Solution for Diverse HPC Scenarios

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, November 17, 2008 -- (Business Wire India) -- Microsoft Corporation India Private Limited today announced the Release to Manufacture (RTM) of Windows HPC Server 2008 - its latest offering in the High Performance Computing (HPC) segment. With this, Windows HPC Server 2008 will be available to Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and computer manufacturers for final distribution. Windows HPC Server 2008 provides an easy-to-deploy, cost-effective and scalable high-performance computing solution - which combines the power of the Windows Server platform with rich, out-of-the-box functionality to help enhance productivity and reduce complexity of any given HPC environment. Evaluation copies of Windows HPC Server 2008 are now available for download at http://www.microsoft.com/hpc.

Commenting on the launch, Ms. Pallavi Kathuria, Director, Server Business Group, Microsoft India said, "The success achieved by Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 in the last few years is a strong testament of Microsoft's value proposition in the High Performance Computing market. We are confident that as the successor, Windows HPC Server 2008 will help us further build on this momentum by offering an easy to deploy, cost effective and scalable HPC solution for firms to leverage their existing resources and scale from workstation to cluster - all in a familiar Windows environment".

With this launch, Microsoft has strengthened its commitment to driving the adoption of High Performance Computing beyond traditional HPC workloads into mainstream scenarios. "While the contribution of HPC solutions has been acknowledged worldwide in complex computational scenarios like engineering, science and medical research projects - today, this technology has indeed evolved beyond its conventional realms of utility to include a wide range of mainstream modern day technologies like storage, networking and data management", said Ms. Kathuria.

Microsoft brings the value of an integrated HPC solution and a productive development environment to customers for whom high-performance computing has been out of reach in the past. By focusing on productivity for users, developers and administrators, Microsoft is positioned to take high-performance computing mainstream. "The launch of Windows HPC Server 2008 is just another step in our vision to drive HPC mainstream" added Ms. Kathuria.

In India specifically, apart from the academic space, Microsoft has experienced a great rise in the adoption curve of its HPC solutions in commercial scenarios like Manufacturing, BFSI and Media & Entertainment, and has been working with leading names in these areas in India.

Based on Windows Server 2008, Windows HPC Server 2008 is designed to deliver:

-- Improved productivity of systems administration and cluster interoperability by dramatically simplifying the overall deployment, administration and management over the entire system lifetime while ensuring interoperability with existing systems infrastructure

-- Rapid HPC application development through integration with Visual Studio 2008, which provides a comprehensive parallel programming environment. In addition to supporting standard interfaces such as OpenMP, multiprocessor interconnect (MPI) and Web services, Window HPC Server 2008 also supports third-party numerical library providers, performance optimizers, compilers and debugging toolkits

-- Seamless scaling from workstation to cluster by allowing end users to harness the power of distributed computing through a familiar Windows-based desktop environment without requiring specialized skills or training
