Angad Cheema Fires Blistering 63 for Round One Lead
Rashid Khan and Chikkarangappa one shot behind
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Rookie Angad Cheema of Panchkula equalled the course record with a blistering seven-under-63 to grab the lead in the opening round of the CG Open 2013 being played at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club in Mumbai. Chikkarangappa S of Bangalore, another rookie, was placed tied second at six-under-64 along with Delhi's Rashid Khan.
Angad Cheema started the tournament with birdies on the first two holes. Angad landed his tee shot within four feet of the pin on the second hole, a par-3. The lanky golfer then hit a couple of inaccurate tee shots that resulted in bogeys on the third and fifth. Between the two bogeys he had a birdie on the fourth.
The 23-year-old Cheema used his sand-wedge to great effect on the seventh, 11th and 12th where he landed his approach shots within seven feet to pick up three more birdies. It seemed to be the rookie's day as he canned a 25-footer to gain another stroke on the 14th. Angad made birdie-bogey on the 16th and 17th before signing off with a spectacular eagle on the 18th. Cheema found the par-5 18th green in two shots before sinking two-and-a-half foot eagle putt.
Cheema thus equalled the course record of seven-under-63 which was earlier set by Md Zamal Hossain Mollah, Ashok Kumar, Rafick Ali Mollah, Karanjit Singh Sandhu and Gurbaaz Mann.
"I couldn't have asked for a better start to the week. I hit it really well and was within four feet of the pin on four occasions. I capitalized on the par-5 holes as I made an eagle and three birdies on the four par-5s. The eagle on the final hole has given me a lot of confidence going into the second round," said Cheema.
He added, "My runner-up finish at the BILT Open last month has helped me raise my game. The fact that I'm placed fourth on the Rolex Rankings and lead the Emerging Player of the Year race is added incentive to perform better in my first season as a professional. The key at this course will be to grab maximum opportunities on the greens."
Chikkarangappa S came up with a bogey-free 64 that placed him in joint second along with Rolex Rankings leader Rashid Khan whose round of 64 featured seven birdies and a bogey.
Chikkarangappa, currently ranked fifth on the Rolex Rankings, said, "My hitting was top-class and I made 15 greens in regulation. I sank three birdie putts from a distance of 10 to 12 feet and hit the green in two shots on the 16th and 18th, both par-5s, to register birdies.
"I've had a good season so far and I'm carrying forward the form from the last PGTI event where I finished tied third," added Chikka.
Divyanshu Bajaj of Kolkata made a hole-in-one on the second hole during his round of five-under-65 that placed him tied fourth along with K Prabagaran of Sri Lanka.
Divyanshu's six-iron tee shot from 178 yards on the second hole, pitched a yard short of the hole before finding the cup on the second bounce.
Chandigarh golfers Abhijit Singh Chadha, Harmeet Kahlon and Randhir Singh Ghotra are in tied sixth place at four-under-66 along with Delhi's Vinod Kumar, Abhishek Jha of Bangalore and Bangladeshi Md Shakhawat Hossain Sohel.
Defending champion Harendra Gupta fired a one-over-71 to grab a share of 56th place.

Fire and life safety equipments are becoming mandatory in commercial and industrial buildings, and high-rise apartments too are paying close attention to the safety of property and life.

Consolidation is inevitable as companies look to adopt the inorganic model for growth to stay competitive. Speaking on the occasion, stated Mr. B. D. There is a strong principle of sharing that underlines harmonious living in communities. The Nanum Village concept evolves from this principle to provide residents with benefits that will improve the quality of their life."
As part of its Nanum Village initiative, the Company will construct a community centre for Baidpura residents at the Sri Sant Vinobha Bhave Inter College, which will house recreation facilities, a library as well as computers for the benefit of the community. With education as a strong focus for its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, the Company plans to set up a Smart Class in the school. By providing computers, tablets and Smart board in the Samsung Smart class, the Company plans to enrich the quality of education being provided to the students and open up a whole new world of possibilities for them. The Nanum Village project in Noida is the latest addition to several CSR projects undertaken by Samsung in India. A group of volunteers from Samsung Electronics' headquarters in Korea have been working in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu and now in Delhi, for the past three weeks, as part of the Company's global employee volunteer program. The volunteers set up a Samsung Smart Class in the Keeranallur Government High School, carried out repair works in the school, taught students basic hygiene and involved them in various physical education activities. Some volunteers also supported health check-up camps organised by Samsung India in around 10 villages in Sriperumbudur. Samsung volunteers are currently working in the Sarvodaya Secondary School, Sawada carrying out educational activities.

Miami Airport Shortens Queues for Thanksgiving with SITA Kiosks
Miami, United States, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- Passengers at Miami International Airport will enjoy shorter queues in passport control this Thanksgiving thanks to new self-service passport control kiosks from air transport IT leader, SITA. The new kiosks can process passengers in less than two minutes, compared to longer waits for a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent during peak travel periods.
Maurice Jenkins, Director of Information Systems and Telecommunications, Miami International Airport, said: "Our aim is to provide excellent service to our passengers. During the Thanksgiving holiday period, we are expecting more than 900,000 passengers to pass through MIA. SITA's kiosks are reducing wait times and making arrival in Miami faster and easier for international passengers."
All U.S. passport holders and returning Canadian passport holders are eligible to use the new kiosks, which partially automate the inspection process for people entering the United States. The kiosks scan the passenger's passport, collect flight information and declaration data, take a photo and give the passenger a receipt. Passengers then present their receipt to an agent on the way out.

Neubiberg, Germany, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- At this year's SPS IPC Drives trade fair for electrical automation, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) will present its new 1EDI EiceDRIVERTM Compact Single Channel Gate Driver for applications with isolation voltages of up to 1200 volts. The galvanically isolated driver components are based on the Coreless Transformer Technology developed by Infineon, which enables output currents of up to 6 amperes on separate output pins. The basic system includes UVLO (under voltage lockout) for IGBTs and MOFETs as well as an active shutdown in the event that the driver is not connected to the power supply. The 1EDI drivers are supplied in a compact DSO-8 housing and can be used at ambient temperatures of up to 125°C in applications such as industrial drives, inverters, welding equipment, induction cooking appliances and power supplies for servers or telecommunications.
"With the 1EDI driver IC, we are further expanding our extensive range of driver ICs - which are differentiated according to applications as well as functionality - into the compact area. As with the 2EDL Compact, the new driver component is also aiming at the mass market both in the consumer as well as the industrial area," says Oliver Hellmund from Infineon, who is responsible for marketing the EiceDRIVERTM. "The 1EDI Compact stands for exceptionally robust and simultaneously very secure control of high-voltage power semiconductors. Our compact driver range now covers all applications for power semiconductors with functional isolation." The 1EDI driver ICs are offered in eight variants that can be operated at up to voltages of 1200 volts and are designed for use in applications with either IGBTs or MOSFETs.
The new EiceDRIVERTM components are the first driver ICs to achieve a value of 100kV/µs for the CMTI (common mode transient immunity). Both the MOSFET as well as one IGBT driver supply six amperes of output current. The MOSFET driver is optimized for use with power semiconductors that are based on CoolMOST technology. Due to lower induction loss, the EiceDRIVERT thus enables an additional gain in efficiency of 0.5 percent with the latest generation CoolMOS C7. Further IGBT only variants with 4, 2 and 0.5 amperes are in preparation. These five variants have a separate output for charging and discharging the gate. An additional three variants are structured to limit the gate voltage (active Miller clamp) and provide 3, 2 and 1 amperes of output current.
In addition to the compact class, the EiceDRIVER TM family also includes the EiceDRIVERTM Enhanced class which offers increased functionality both for the industrial as well as partially the consumer sectors.

Samples of the 1EDI EiceDRIVERTM for MOSFETs and IGBTs with 6 amperes of output current are available now; the corresponding Customer Evaluation Board can be ordered as of January 2014. Production start for both these variants will presumably begin in March 2014. Neubiberg, Germany, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 -- (Business Wire India) -- At this year's SPS IPC Drives trade fair for electrical automation, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) will present its new 1EDI EiceDRIVERTM Compact Single Channel Gate Driver for applications with isolation voltages of up to 1200 volts. The galvanically isolated driver components are based on the Coreless Transformer Technology developed by Infineon, which enables output currents of up to 6 amperes on separate output pins. The basic system includes UVLO (under voltage lockout) for IGBTs and MOFETs as well as an active shutdown in the event that the driver is not connected to the power supply. The 1EDI drivers are supplied in a compact DSO-8 housing and can be used at ambient temperatures of up to 125°C in applications such as industrial drives, inverters, welding equipment, induction cooking appliances and power supplies for servers or telecommunications.

The 1EDI driver ICs are offered in eight variants that can be operated at up to voltages of 1200 volts and are designed for use in applications with either IGBTs or MOSFETs.
The new EiceDRIVERTM components are the first driver ICs to achieve a value of 100kV/µs for the CMTI (common mode transient immunity). Both the MOSFET as well as one IGBT driver supply six amperes of output current. The MOSFET driver is optimized for use with power semiconductors that are based on CoolMOST technology. Due to lower induction loss, the EiceDRIVERT thus enables an additional gain in efficiency of 0.5 percent with the latest generation CoolMOS C7. Further IGBT only variants with 4, 2 and 0.5 amperes are in preparation. These five variants have a separate output for charging and discharging the gate. An additional three variants are structured to limit the gate voltage (active Miller clamp) and provide 3, 2 and 1 amperes of output current.
In addition to the compact class, the EiceDRIVER TM family also includes the EiceDRIVERTM Enhanced class which offers increased functionality both for the industrial as well as partially the consumer sectors.
Availability and additional information
Samples of the 1EDI EiceDRIVERTM for MOSFETs and IGBTs with 6 amperes of output current are available now; the corresponding Customer Evaluation Board can be ordered as of January 2014. Production start for both these variants will presumably begin in March 2014. The other drivers are intended to be available as samples in the first quarter of 2014; production is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2014.
