IDEX Legal will host the 10th edition of The Legal Counsel Congress & 4th edition of The IDEX Legal Awards on 30th April at the Palladium Hotel in Mumbai. ‘The Legal Counsel Congress’ is presented by Thomson Reuters, the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals.
The Legal Counsel Congress (LCC) is India's premiere forum bringing legal decision makers together on a common platform. LCC gives the legal fraternity a 360 degree platform focusing not just on the technical aspects of being a legal leader but also on the non-technical aspects such as team management, hiring and retention of staff, leadership and growth of the General Counsel (GC).
This year’s inaugural panel on ‘The Rise of The Global GC’ is chaired by M.R. Prasanna, former Group General Counsel of the Aditya Birla Group; Laura Susi-Gamba, Global GC, Power Plants, Wärtsilä Corporation (Finland); Anubhav Kapoor, Global General Counsel and Company Secretary, TATA Technologies (USA); Thomas Thoppil, Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, APAC and Japan, Hewlett Packard; and M. K. Sharma, former Vice Chairman, Hindustan Unilever who will be discussing the path to the top and the challenges they overcame to get there.
Eminent business personalities viz. Padmanabh P. Vora, Former Chairman and Managing Director of the Industrial Development Bank along with Mr. Kanu Doshi, Dean of Finance at the Wellingkar Institute of Management, Director of Reliance Capital Asset Management Ltd., Director of Edelweiss Capital Asset Management Limited and an Independent Director of Motilal Oswal Asset Management; will discuss the role of Independent Directors as outlined by the new Companies Act, amongst other leading legal figures from across the fraternity.
The Congress will be followed by the IDEX Legal Awards that acknowledge and celebrate excellence amongst in-house legal departments and law firms from India and overseas. And Mr. Sudhanshu Swaroop, Vice Chair of the Human Rights Committee of England and Wales, will be attending the IDEX Legal Awards Ceremony as the honourable chief guest for the evening.
Some of the eminent finalists for the awards include: Muneesh Sud, Reliance Capital and Dr A S Kumar, Dr Reddy’s for the GC of the Year category; Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB & Partners, and Trilegal for the Law Firm of the Year category; and Shardul Shroff, Cyril Shroff and Abhay Nevagi for the Managing Partner of The Year Award.
