SCTE India, the Society for Broadband Professionals, today announced that the co-founder of SCTE India, Rahul Nehra has been appointed as its ‘Honorary National Secretary’. In his new role, Nehra will help SCTE India to drive its initiatives as India goes digital in the cable and broadband space.
Mr. Rahul Nehra is an industry leader in the Converged space ranging from broadcast technologies, satellite, content and OTT. He has been responsible for the success of Blue Chip Companies like Intelsat, Irdeto, Exset- General Satellite, Latens-Pacein India, Asia and Globally over the last two decades.
Mr. Nehra is also the founder of Aarti TV and has pioneered International African Cinema through his venture Africa Film Factory. Actively involved in philanthropy; his major project includes 'Khushika' a Non-Governmental organization.
Apart from SCTE, he is also credited as being the co-founder of well-known industry bodies like VAS Council, global initiative in the field of content technology and application in the multi- screen world.
“We welcome Rahul onboard at a time that is very challenging for broadband operators in India as they complete the government-mandated migration to digital television,” said Prem Behl, President, SCTE India. “Rahul is a leading broadcast professional, and his experience and skills will be invaluable for our Society as India goes digital.”
As the cable and broadband revolution unfolds across India and South Asia, SCTE India is steadily strengthening its footprint in the region to ensure that it plays an instrumental role in the transition to digital. SCTE India is based in New Delhi, and membership of SCTE India is open to all wireline engineers and technicians throughout the Indian sub-continent.
