New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, May 14, 2012 -- (Business Wire India) -- After the astounding success of Gourmet Gurus 2011, Food and Nightlife Magazine proudly announced the second edition of Food and Nightlife Awards - Gourmet Gurus 2012. This edition saw the transformation of the felicitation ceremony to an awards night, wherein Top Chefs, Restaurants and F&B Professionals from Delhi were commemorated in the presence of renowned professionals from the Indian culinary industry alongside the fashion & lifestyle fraternity of the capital. Bollywood star Jimmy Shergill launched the May 12 issue of Food and Nightlife with himself on the cover.

It was a night to honour, recognize, felicitate and applaud the proficient chefs, restaurants and restaurateurs who have excelled in their respective domains and have contributed immensely to the F&B industry.

The evening that was held at EROS Hilton, Nehru Place, New Delhi on 4th May 2012 witnessed the release of a White paper on F&B Industry by Dr. Piyush Kumar Sinha of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in association with Food and Nightlife Magazine. According to Dr. Sinha, "In a fragmented and fast growing market, the enterprise must find the right value for the chosen segment and deliver it consistently rather than being swayed away by the size and growth of the market.

The evening witnessed top chefs, leading restaurateurs and some very important F&B journalists networking with each other. Among those who graced their occasion with their presence were Sumit Goyal, Jimmy Shergill, Taz (Stereo Nation), Dr. Piyush Kumar Sinha, Chef Shaun Kenworthy, Chef Kunal Kapoor, Chef Bakshish Dean, Chef Alessandro Sandrolini, Food & Travel writer Rupali Dean, Ramola Bachchan, Jatin Kochhar and Saransh Goila, among others.

Chef Kunal Kapoor along with Emcee Sonali Gupta kept the crowd enthralled with their impromptu gigs and antics. What more, there were live cooking demos by Master Chef Ajay Chopra and Shaun Kenworthy. Besides this, the live entertainment act by Nizami Bandhu of Rockstar fame mesmerized the crowd with their Sufi tracks. To add to the spice quotient of the evening, Vada-pav flavours and Jhaal Moodi were served, which were specially flown in from Mumbai and Kolkata respectively.
