Acknowledging the Achievers of the Indian IT and Telecom Industry at the Frost & Sullivan 2011 India IT & Telecom Excellence Awards
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Friday, May 13, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- The Indian IT industry has been instrumental for several countries noticing India as an emerging economy. The next few years are expected to be extremely dynamic for this industry. It is a decade promising to transform the products and services portfolio and impact the entire ecosystem.
The Indian telecom industry, too, witnessed its fair share of difficulties in 2010, from spectrum auctions, to consolidations, and increasing debt. With many operators launching their 3G services, this sector is expected to witness rapid and positive growth. The uptake of value-added services, smartphone devices, and next-generation solutions is gaining significant traction. If performance of the operators is an indicator; it surely reaffirms the industry's growth trajectory. The changing business environment has led to the integration of multiple technologies and application convergence. Collaboration will remain a key buzzword, which enable integration of voice, video, and data services through multiple channels.
In order to applaud the noteworthy achievements of the Indian IT and Telecom industries, Frost & Sullivan instituted the annual India IT and Telecom Excellence Awards. In its ninth year, the 2011 India IT and Telecom Excellence Awards, held yesterday, at the Leela Kempinski, Delhi (NCR) once again acknowledged companies and individuals that have pushed the boundaries of excellence - and have risen above competition and demonstrated outstanding performance in these sectors.
According to Anand Rangachary, Managing Director, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia, Middle East, & North Africa, "As India continues to grow at rapid pace, it would be imperative to meet the ever-increasing demand from consumers and enterprises. A segmented approach should be the focus along with innovation and relevance. Growth in devices, infrastructure, applications, and services is likely to accelerate with a promising 3G roadmap. Companies that are instrumental in changing the face of the communications industry with their exemplary solutions and services will achieve phenomenal success."
Commenting on the IT sector, Anand believes, "The success of IT companies in these unpredictable times will be based on their ability to enable their clients to meet the business objectives and develop strong channel partnerships to expand their reach. Increasing need for enterprise mobility, focus on the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment, and rising adoption of cloud offerings will push vendors to redefine their strategies, enabling them to achieve growth in a highly-competitive environment."
Frost & Sullivan followed a robust measurement-based methodology to select the recipients in each award category. To make the process more rigorous, Frost & Sullivan introduced an independent panel of judges who deliberated on the research findings of the Frost & Sullivan Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) team for each category and then shortlisted the award recipients.
