The fifth of 66 qualifiers for the global event, which has expanded rapidly since the inaugural tournament in 2013, featured 101 players, all personally-invited guests of Turkish Airlines.

Sanjay Setia and Shekhar Agrawal finished first in their respective categories in the individual stableford competition and therefore progress to the Grand Final in Antalya, Turkey, this October. The first qualifier took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, with events also taking place in Cape Town, Doha and Mumbai in March before visiting Delhi.  Tournaments will continue to take place across the globe, with Kuwait, Karachi, Dubai, Los Angeles, Seoul and Beijing amongst the next events on the schedule.

The overall winners of the Grand Final will progress to play in the 2015 Turkish Airlines Open pro-am, while all finalists are to enjoy a seven-night stay in an all-inclusive hotel.

Turkish Airlines, which was recently voted Europe’s best airline for the fourth consecutive year (2014), launched the World Golf Cup in 2013, featuring 12 qualifying events.

China’s Han Liang proved victorious and his prize was partnering world number one and 14-time major champion Tiger Woods in the Turkish Airlines Open pro-am.
After that initial success, there was a rapid expansion to include 50 events worldwide last year.

Bangalore, Karnataka, India

INK, a community that transforms imagination to impact, is inviting applications for its prestigious INK Fellows Program 2015. INKFellows Program is a platform for discovery and exposure that equips young change-makers with the mentorship, support, networks and specially designed opportunities necessary to help take their brilliant work to the next level.

The initiative aims to recognize young path-breakers from diverse fields such as art, science, technology, entrepreneurship, social impact, music and architecture to name a few and gives them a stage that generates positive impact in their field of work or community

“Through this program we aim to build a community of young change-makers who are on a journey to transform their imaginative ideas into global impact. We want to enable young people, particularly from emerging economies like India, who have the courage to follow through on their vision by inspiring them with real examples of peers who break new grounds with their creative thinking and immense potential" - said Lakshmi Pratury, Host and Curator of the INK Conference.

Supported by notable institutions including the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, The INK Fellows Program applications are open to individuals aged between 18 and 40 years, from any country and field of work. Applications can be filed by answering an online questionnaire available on the website http://inktalks.com/fellows/applyor by uploading a 3-minute video on YouTube and including it in the application form. Shortlisted candidates who make it to the second stage will be called upon to provide additional information in support of their application, and for an interview. Applications to the initial stage will close in the second week of May.

Each year, the INK Fellows Program identifies a multi-disciplinary group of 20 young achievers from across the world who have demonstrated their ability to be path-breakers in their respective fields. The hand-picked INK Fellows are given a platform to showcase their work and ideas to a global audience through INK’s flagship annual event, the INK Conference. The Program also facilitates access to potential customers, funding, mentorship and opportunities for further exposure, besides providing an enriching community of peers for collaboration and support.

It's a close-knit family, unlike any other, of outliers who accept and hone one's uniqueness and quirks. BWI: CG Wins INR 115 Crore Order from PGCIL, India's Largest Transmission Utility

CG Wins INR 115 Crore Order from PGCIL, India's Largest Transmission Utility

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

  • To enhance transmission efficiency
  • Improve quality of power to end consumer
  • Reinforces CG’s leadership in the UHV segment

Avantha Group Company CG
has bagged a significant order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the supply of 80 MVAR 765kV Shunt Reactors valued at INR 115 Crore. The scope of this contract to be executed in 20 months includes design, engineering, manufacture, shop testing, supply, erection testing and commissioning at site, and other associated civil works.

These reactors will be installed at PGCIL’s Vemagiri and Srikakulam Sub-stations in the state of Andhra Pradesh and will add to the existing population of over 100 CG made reactors already in commission in PGCIL’s UHV network.  This order reinforces CG’s existing leadership in the UHV transmission segment in India and its long standing relationship with the Central Transmission Utility.

CG won this order beating stiff global competition and its successful track record having partnered with PGCIL for multiple projects. These reactors when commissioned will not only enhance the transmission efficiency of the national grid, but will also improve the quality of power that reaches the consumer.
As India migrates to 765kV as the national transmission backbone, CG plays a vital role in building that grid with its indigenously created UHV portfolio. CG has attained self sufficiency in the segment having created a complete UHV platform comprising Transformers, Reactors, Current Transformers, Capacitive Voltage Transformers, Circuit Breakers and Surge Arresters.

Commenting on this prestigious win, Avantha Group Company CG’s CEO & Managing Director, Mr. Laurent Demortier said: “We are honoured to receive this opportunity from PGCIL and thankful to them for continuing to repose trust in our products and technological expertise. As rapid urbanisation and industrialisation adds millions of new consumers in the country, a robust UHV infrastructure will be the backbone of the power sector and CG is well positioned to serve the utilities for their future growth plan with its complete UHV range”.
