An NRI student from Singapore, Rasika Kale of Global Indian International School (GIIS) has ranked as a world topper in the International Baccalaureate (IBDP) exam 2016 (Grade 12 equivalent), scoring 45 out of 45 points. Three other students from GIIS, Aarushi Khandelwal, Revvand Rajesh and Sibiranjith Nagesh secured a near-perfect score of 44/45 points.

“The credit of my success goes to my teachers, parents, and the school. My parents motivated me, while my teachers made sure that I was well-prepared for the exam,” said Rasika, who has lived in Singapore since 2002 and studied at GIIS from grade 1 to 12.

Courtesy the school’s Nine Gems™ model of holistic education, Rasika nurtured into an all-round performer with a combination of intelligence and passion for performing arts. In 2014, Rasika secured the World Topper position in the Cambridge IGCSE Class 10 examination (Extended Mathematics) and secured 8 A* (stars) as an overall score.

“As thousands of students from over 40 countries appear for the IB exams, achieving a world topper ranking is as prestigious as winning a gold medal in the Olympics of academics,” said Mr. Kamal Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Global Schools Foundation, which established GIIS in South East Asia and Middle East.

He further added, “Year after year, world’s top 20 universities have accepted GIIS graduates, and our students have also excelled in other curriculums, including CBSE and Cambridge IGCSE. Earlier this year, our student, Anushka Gaikwad ranked as a world topper among international students who appeared in the CBSE Class 12 exams by scoring 491 of 500 points. Having our pedagogy based on an integrated holistic learning framework of Nine Gems, students gain a lot by building an effective learner profile for universities. The strong academic credentials and vast teaching experience of our faculty members forms the backbone of the school’s vision to nurture global citizens of tomorrow.”

GIIS is by far the only Indian international school in South East Asia to have produced five IB World Toppers and 17 near-perfect scorers of 44/45 points.
