Picsdream, India's first Photography Marketplace, after a success with their Android mobile app have now announced the launch of its app for the iOS.
The iOS version has been developed to provide Picsdreamers with an easy way to sell their images on the platform, to individuals and businesses. The features include image search to help buyers identify with ease the photograph they want to buy, a keywording engine to enable photographers keyword their pictures correctly, and a faster option to upload photographs - thereby reducing bandwidth usage. The app is feature-packed for photographers as well as buyers, and brings a brighter and more simplified experience.
The iOS version is designed for both iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 7.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It occupies a memory space of 18.3 MB.
Commenting on the launch, Mahesh Nair, Founder, Picsdream said, “Picsdream has seen some incredible momentum over the past few months. We made our first sale of photographs in keeping with the brand promise of monetising art works. The launch of the app introduces new technology and distribution opportunities to the community.”
Making buying, selling and sharing of photographs seamless
The iOS app homepage has three tabs to explore the pictures available on Picsdream: Showcase, Featured and Discover More. There is a fourth tab - Editor’s Choice which features pictures shortlisted and recommended by the onsite Editor. There is also an option to request for a particular type of photo and upload a sample. Picsdream will search and share a list of photos matching the request.
The UI has been designed with ease of use in mind for the photographer, and to engage prospective buyers. Photographs can be uploaded through a user-friendly interface - the app can load either from the phone gallery or right after taking a picture. The color schemes and local caching features of the app ensure a lag-free experience and good visibility. If users have WiFi or NFC-enabled cameras, they can transfer photos from the camera onto their smartphone, and simultaneously upload the content onto the Picsdream portal.
Users can follow photographers they like and create their own Pinups. In addition, users can contact other Picsdreamers, engage with them and exchange notes on photography.
