JW Café, the all-day dining, multi-cuisine restaurant at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar will be reviving the lost cuisines of India with the Kokanastha Brahmin food festival commencing from 6th - 15th May 2016. Chef Vishal Atreya - Executive Chef, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar has curated this unique menu post his culinary journey to the Konkan coast borrowing the hidden recipes from the community that reside there.
Commenting on the festival, Chef Vishal Atreya - Executive Chef, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar said “The secrets of the Kokanastha Brahmin cuisine have been lost in the tides of time. We embarked on a journey to Diveagar and Guhagar to learn and understand more about the cuisine. Through this food festival, we would like to impart our learnings and introduce this cuisine to our guests.”
Featuring an array of vegetarian delicacies, the Kokanastha Brahmin food festival would lay down a delicious array of authentic Kokanastha Brahmin preparations like Dalimbi Usal, Kaju chi usal, Fansachi Bhaji, Amboli, Thalipeeth, Aluchi Bhaji, Ghavan and Ambapoli amongst a lot more. To add on, there would also be authentic Konkan desserts like Fanas Poli, Ukdiche Modak and Haapus Aamras.
