JN Port Announces Rebate for Containers Moved by Rail to ICD Mulund

Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

India’s largest container port, JN Port has approved a waiver of Rs. 728/- per container towards handling charges for all containers moved by rail to and from ICD Mulund on CONCOR rakes to be placed at JNPCT. ICD Mulund is strategically located and accessible by road and rail to the catchment area around Mumbai.

A similar waiver has been granted to 3 CFS, Navkar, CWC & DRT on Exim containers which arrive through dedicated rakes or moved out through dedicated rakes placed on JNPCT lines. This initiative is taken to encourage the trade to shift to rail mode.

Mr. Anil Diggikar, Chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust said, “This decision is in line with our commitment to provide an easy environment for conducting business. This is a win-win situation for all the stakeholders and locals, as this will decongest the roads and reduce pollution around the Port’s vicinity.
