Leading payment consultancy FIME has helped Interblocks, a leading provider of integrated, electronic payment processing solutions, achieve EMV® Level 2 certification of Sri Lanka’s first ATM kernel.
FIME provided in-depth technical knowledge that assisted Interblocks in the development of its kernel roadmap. FIME also supported the payment processor throughout the ATM debugging phase with its EVAL test tool to ensure a successful formal certification that optimized product time to market.
“With Sri Lanka in the process of migrating to EMV chip technology, achieving this certification was a big priority to support local banks, manufacturers and developers,” comments Uditha Boyagoda, Vice President – Quality and Professional Services at Interblocks. “FIME’s expertise and local knowledge was vital to enable our teams to resolve any implementation challenges quickly and be confident that our ATM would operate as required in the marketplace. With FIME’s support, we were able to progress with the certification efficiently and cost-effectively.”
“This project is a perfect example of the end-to-end implementation support we offer to customers,” adds Prakash Sambandam, Vice President –South East Asia at FIME. “We were pleased to help Interblocks with consultancy and training throughout its project to ensure its team has the expertise required to manage and maintain its ATM EMV activity. It was great to forge such a successful partnership with Interblocks, and we look forward to working together in the future.”
The EVAL test tool, combined with FIME’s consultancy and laboratory services, offers kernel developers a complete certification portfolio, supporting them in achieving compliance with a comprehensive list of certifications. The tool, which is used by FIME’s laboratories during debugging and formal approval, is available to purchase for in-house pre-certification testing. In addition, FIME’s EVAL 4dev cloud-based test service enables the validation of EMV Level 2 payment terminal kernels during the development phase, at any time and from any location. These tools and services ensure a smooth formal approval process, avoiding the costly and time-consuming delays that can occur when an error is identified at the final stage.
