AccorHotels and Delhi DareDevils have signed a joint partnership for Novotel to be the official hotel for the 2016 Indian Premier League. Novotel is the midscale brand under AccorHotels that provides a multi-service offer to both business and leisure guests and has over 450 hotels and resorts across 61 countries. As part of this partnership, Delhi’s “Dilli Boys” as they are popularly known, will make Novotel their home, as the IPL 9 touring schedule gets underway.
Fresh from the wake of the recently concluded 2016 ICC World Twenty20, IPL 2016 promises to be yet another high decibel clash of cricketing titans. Delhi DareDevils features the strongest squad to date, including a new captain in Zaheer Khan and a fresh line-up of younger, next generation players such as Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Mayank Agarwal, making it a team to be reckoned with for the IPL 9. Blending in with the youthfulness of the Delhi DareDevils 2016 team, is a newer generation of AccorHotels, some of which are newly opened including the four month old Novotel New Delhi Aerocity. In true Novotel spirit of “making guest feel welcome”, Delhi DareDevils’ star addition and West Indies’ all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, was given a champion’s welcome by the staff and fans at Novotel New Delhi Aerocity. Since the “Dilli Boys” have always had cricket on their mind, the hotel lobby was converted into a cricket pitch and the team spontaneously played an impromptu match of “Lobby Cricket” with the hotel staff and a crowd of exciting guests cheering on.
Over the course of their stay at Novotel, the “Dilli Boys” will also lend a helping hand to the AccorHotels Centre of Hope, a vocational training centre run by Hope Foundation in association with AccorHotels, which equips young women and men from underprivileged backgrounds with job skills. Through a specially created campaign called “Runs for Hope,” AccorHotels will donate INR 200 to the centre for every run the team makes, giving the “Dilli Boys” another gratifying reason to outperform and score more!
