The 18th India International Watch & Clock Fair “Samaya Bharati 2016” will be held from Thursday, 28th January to Sunday 31st January 2016 at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. The Fair, a grand horological event is organized by India’s leading watch & clock magazine “Trade Post” under the auspices of Watch Trade Federation and supported by other trade bodies. This will be a B2B and B2C exhibition.
 
According to Mr. Hemal Kharod, Chief Organizer of “Samaya Bharati 2016”, The Fair will display latest products and innovations of over 100 brands from India, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Japan, France, China, USA, Korea, Belgium, Middle East, Denmark, Italy, Spain etc. Over 20 new brands will be displayed for first time in the fair. There will be over 50,000 styles t20o choose for the visitors. Fair will exhibit watches, time pieces, clocks, all horological components, watch movements, processing service providers, watch cases, watch bracelets, watch dials, leather straps, packaging, clocks cabinets, accessories and life style products. It will also include heritage (grandfathers) clocks. The price range will vary from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- for watches and from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,50,000/- for the clocks. Now, consumers will have an opportunity to choose from a wide range of watches of different price band and even fulfill their desire by start wearing their Dream Watch on the spot!  

This unique fair is expected to have large footfall of trade, visitors and consumers. In this fair, manufacturers, distributors, agents, traders, retailers, mall owners, exporters, importers, e-retailers, designers and creative artists along with watch lovers across India and from abroad will meet, discuss, create leverage, explore new opportunities and share their experiences and views at the event, thereby creating  a kinship among  the entire watch trade fraternity.

Moving with the latest trend, there will be brands, introducing smart watches which will perform functions of smartphones. This year small scale sector in watches will also participate and introduce new products. The fair will also propagate current Mantra “Make in India” & “Made in India”.
                                                                                                                                                
For the first time, Trade Post will initiate its ‘First Knowledge Fora’ to begin sharing of ideas and mutual interaction on Technology, Tax & Regulatory Issues and panel discussion on growth opportunities etc. during the Fair. This exchange of thoughts will invariably lead to innovation & growth for the trade participants. Forum 1 will consist of “Changing Face of Retail in India – Opportunities for Growth” and Forum 2 will deal with “Women Empowerment – Being a successful Woman in the Watch Industry”.

‘Trade Post Awards 2015’ will be given during the fair in the category like ‘Man of the Year’, ‘Technocrat of the tear’, ‘Excellence in Marketing’ and ‘Excellence in Retail’. There will be also Lucky Draws & Price Raffles.

Mr. Mihir Kharod, Chief Editor –Trade Post stated that the size of Indian Watch & Clock Industry is estimated to the tune of around Rs. 10,000 Crore, which includes Indian brands as well as international brands selling in India. The present market size of wrist watches in India is around 4.70 crore pieces per annum and good potential for further growth.
