Furthering its quest to move towards complete digitization of procedures, Delhi Police has successfully launched the Found app, a web-based application. The app comes as an extension to the previously launched ‘lost report for missing articles in Delhi’. Found is formulated keeping in mind another major pain point of the general public to locate their missing articles. In the very first week of its installation, the app has proven its immense utility for the general public with a good number of uploads.
The Found app now enables people to actually search out their missing articles or documents here, found by either the police officials or by civilians. All these items are listed on the Found database along with their identification number and put under different categories to help people locate their missing items smoothly. One can simply go onto the Found web-app, select the suitable article category, put in the id number/ serial number of the article and identify their respective object.
A picture of the items is also attached for easier identification by the concerned person, who can claim the item by visiting the specific police station and displaying an Id proof for police record. The entire process is made highly comfortable, convenient, easy and time-saving with minimal hassle involved for the people. Accomplished within a time-tight schedule, India’s first ever Found app developed by a Delhi-based homeland security firm, ACSG Corp., is a substantial step forward in the digitization of Delhi police. The link to the app is available right on the Delhi police website’s homepage, wherein only the items with a valid Id number on them are listed.
Found facilitates some special features, exclusively for the found mobile phone articles listed on the web, such as additional search availability. A lost mobile phone which has been found by the police can first be searched in the Found web-app database and then, secondly through the Zonal Integrated Police Network (ZIPNET). This double search also caters to the search of the missing phone in 7 nearby states apart from Delhi, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh. If a mobile phone is found in these states as well, it can be found easily. Such dynamic initiatives upholding the cause of public bring to light the continuous efforts of Delhi Police.
