Time Inc. India announced today the appointments of Ashis Roy to Vice President, Technology & Product Engineering and Riyaz Aftab to Vice President, Human Resources, effective immediately. These new hires represent a substantial step towards expanding Time Inc. India’s operations in Bangalore.
Roy oversees Time Inc. India’s technology operations and application development – two significant areas that are helping to set the company up for further success. Aftab supervises the human resources team and is responsible for extending and enhancing the company’s existing HR practices.

The direction and advancement of the technology and human resources teams are critical to our success in this region,” said Jeff Bairstow, Chief Financial Officer and Head of International Operations of Time Inc: “I am confident in Ashis’ extensive background in application development, operations and business intelligence, and I believe he is the perfect fit to head technology at Time Inc. Riyaz’s proven success in business operations and human resource management makes him the right choice to lead this critical effort.”

Aftab joins Time Inc. India from Computer Sciences Corporation, Hyderabad where he worked as HRBP and HR Site Head. He comes with immense experience in HR transformation, talent retention, quality of attrition and employee engagement and communication.

A former IITian, Roy joins Time Inc. India from Microsoft where he spearheaded the online advertising initiative. Roy has numerous patents in online inventory management algorithms.
Colin Bodell, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer will provide functional oversight to Roy, and Greg Giangrande, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer will provide functional oversight to Aftab. Both Bodell and Giangrande are based at Time Inc.’s headquarters in New York.
