The breathtaking design of the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé is visible from every angle. The exterior features signature M design characteristics such as the eye-catching front apron with large air intakes, new Adaptive LED headlights and M‑specific double-bar kidney grille. The powerfully sculpted front wings with hallmark M grills, the side skirts and the exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels further enhance this impression. The sporty look is rounded off by a rear apron with integrated diffuser insert, two sets of M-specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid. Another exclusive M feature is the ultra-lightweight contoured carbon roof, which also helps to lower the vehicle’s centre of gravity visually.
The high-performance and luxurious essence of BMW M also shines through the interior of the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé. Every detail exudes impeccable craftsmanship. The door sill finisher with M logo, the perfectly contoured seats, the bespoke colour combinations of upholstery, the premium ambience; all captivate the exclusivity of the interior. Everything in the BMW M6 Gran Coupé is geared towards one thing: the driver. The latest M cockpit technology has striking features such as the multifunction M leather steering wheel; the M centre console which is inclined slightly towards the driver and has controls for different M driving dynamics systems and the instrument cluster display.
The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé provides the kind of spaciousness that is far from the usual coupé fare. A through-loading hatch and 60:40-split folding rear seatback further provide for excellent everyday usability.
The M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine is the crowning glory of the M power units. Its enormous power of 560 hp (412 kW) and 680 Nm is available at all times thanks to the innovative TwinScroll turbocharging concept. The M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine demonstrates that power and efficiency are by no means mutually exclusive with the intelligent BMW EfficientDynamics technologies. Together, these make for an average fuel consumption of just 10.10 kms per litre of petrol. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds and top speed is 250 km/h.
The engine’s power is transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic. Drivelogic also includes adjustable shift characteristics, a Low Speed Assistance system with a crawl function for increased comfort in stop-and-go traffic and a Launch Control system. Motor sport-style shift paddles directly on the steering wheel allow the driver to engage all seven gears without having to lift off the accelerator. The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé also features two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel for pre-programmed configurations for either a sporty or a comfortable drive.
The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé with state-of-the-art safety features provides maximum support in any situation with six air bags, Active M Differential, M Dynamic Damper Control, M Dynamic mode, M Compound Brakes, Active Protection with Attention Assist and Active headrests (front).
With BMW EfficientDynamics, the new BMW M6 Gran Coupé sets a benchmark when it comes to the performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio equipped with a comprehensive technology package including features such as Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.
The new BMW M6 Gran Coupé has a plethora of BMW ConnectedDrive driver assist systems and services. These include the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System) with touch controller, BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System – GPS) with 25.9 cm colour display with 3D maps, full-colour BMW Head-Up Display with M-specific views, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices, high-end Surround Sound system from Bang & Olufsen and BMW Apps.
