Mr. Sastharam Ravendran, Chief of Operations of the Sarash Group - a 150-crore Business based out of Chennai with global footprints - is the world’s youngest to assume the post of District Director Education & Training of the Toastmasters International - District 82, comprising South India and Sri Lanka. This makes him top most ranking officer in the district. He has been associated with the organisation since 2006. From beginning as a member of the Chennai Toastmasters Club, he gradually moved up the ladder to attain the present international stature.
Known for his organized strategy skills, Sastharam in his late twenties is the 10th District Director in the history of the Toastmasters International’s District 82. He has replaced Mr. Yusuf Juvenjee, a Srilankan who was heading the District 82 from 2014-2015. District 82 has in its fold around 6000 individuals as its members. During his tenure between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016, Mr. Sastharam Ravendran plans to widen the reach of Toastmasters International, by reaching out to tier 2 and 3 cities in South India and Sri Lanka and thereby making Toastmasters a commonly known and preferred brand among the youth and students who aspire to become their greater selves.
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking.

He is a preferred evangelist loved by Toastmasters and others alike, including an illustrious range of corporates like the Infosys, TCS, Aon Hewitt, L&T, HCL, Sasken, CGI, Wipro, Ford, RR Donnelley, Amazon & PayPal. He has offered soft skills training to Senior Managers and even Top Management on various subjects ranging from Day to Day communication, Leadership, Team work to complex topics like Trust, Negotiation Skills & Communication Styles.
Sastharam Ravendran is an Electronics & Communications Engineer by qualification, from the Anna University, who further earned his post graduation in Management from the State University of New York at Oswego, NY, USA and The Peter J Tobin School of Business.
Since 2006 he was the Member of the Chennai Toastmasters Club; from 2006-2009 he worked as Sergeant-at-arms, Vice President - Membership and President of the Chennai Toastmasters Club; in 2008 - Charter Member of Medley Toastmaster Club, Chennai; from 2008-2009 Functioned as the Area Governor of Area G2, District 82, Toastmasters International; in 2009 Member of Port City Toastmasters Club, Oswego, New York; since 2011 Charter Member of Chennai Speakers Forum; 2013 – Conference Chair for Ovation 2013, District level annual speech contests; 2013-2014 he was Lieutenant Governor Marketing - District 82, Toastmasters International; 2014-2015 - Lieutenant Governor Education & Training - District 82, Toastmasters International.
