Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015 has selected Mr. Yusuf Lanewala, Mindteck Chairman & Managing Director, as one of the speakers at its eighth annual eGovernment forum to be held from March 15-19, 2015. This year’s Forum, focusing on Smart City horizons and global trends in eGovernment, will bring together renowned leaders to explore global growth and investment opportunities. Mr. Lanewala will speak about Smart Cities and the role of IT in Smart Governance – namely, the role of IT and automation in accelerating the potential of existing infrastructure within the cities, and preparing the world for the unprecedented scale of urban growth.
Mr. Lanewala has held leadership positions with several renown IT services companies. Most recently, he served as CEO for Malomatia QSC, a 100% subsidiary of the Qatar’s Supreme Council of Information and Communications Technology (ictQatar), which provides domain-specific enterprise IT solutions to the Government, Education and Healthcare sectors. He has extensive experience in international markets and has mentored several start-up niche IT services players in strategic positioning, funding, organizational structure and building processes.
Under Mr. Lanewala’s leadership, and in step with the Government of India’s ambitious smart city initiative, Mindteck recently launched IGNITE, its versatile Internet of Things (IoT) platform which can be used to build city scale IoT solutions such as intelligent street lighting, smart parking, EV charging, automated energy/water meter reading, solar power generation monitoring, building energy management and many other smart city use cases.
