The participants can also look forward to gain a better understanding of the economic nuances that have influenced the pragmatic Budget that was presented by the finance minister Mr. Arun Jaitley.

The two crucial orientations that will constitute the core of the agenda of the 3rd Annual Meeting of The Growth Net include:
  • Increasing differentiation among the new constellation of growth countries: Economies where structural reforms are implemented, where sound industrial and pro-growth policies are put in place, are now capturing the attention of the international business community; other countries which had relied too complacently on the commodities boom or have been postponing politically difficult reforms are now left on the sidelines.
  • Activation of new sources of growth to sustain economic momentum: This involves the development of domestic demand, economic diversification, broadening the domestic investor base, more efficient leveraging of technology and frugal innovation with an emphasis on productivity increase, stimulating intra-regional trade.

Emphasizing on the significance of the summit Mr. NK Singh, Chairman, The Growth Net Summit and Senior Member, Bharatiya Janata Party said, it is now recognized that “the future of the world will be determined by emerging economies of Asia, Africa and Latin America who face similar challenges of development and growth, thus sharing, exchange, brainstorming and synergy building, is key. The third meeting is being held 10 months after the new government took over, which adds great value to the quality of deliberations that would be held between experts from developing and developed economies”.

Since its inception in 2013, it has emerged as an annual flagship event for the public discourse on economy and development. In its previous edition the summit brought about a consensus on boosting cooperation amongst emerging economies in the areas of infrastructure development, capacity building and technology and good governance.
