Thousands Across South Asia Participate in the Run for Inclusion

Thousands of messengers of inclusion with great gusto took part in the second edition of Aide et Action International South Asia’s ‘Run for Inclusion’ held across Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra, Madya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan states and in Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The run organized on 23rd November, was aimed to promote dignity, respect and inclusion of the poor and excluded sections of our society especially children (particularly girl child), persons with disability, migrants, unemployed youth and women by providing quality education and better employment opportunities.


While addressing the participants, Ravi Pratap Singh- Regional Director AEAI South Asia shared, “The run is being organized with a belief that inclusion ensures equality and is achieved through solidarity, so let’s run to create a world that promotes essence of equality.”  He also added “AEAI-SA through its interventions in thematic areas like  access and quality education, inclusive education, migration, sustainable development and global citizenship education was able to reach more than 500, 000 people from excluded and marginalized sections of the society out of which 1, 84, 085 were youth”.

Government Ministers- Shri Kali Charan Saraf, Rajasthan Minister for Education, Shri Vinay Bihari, Bihar State Minister for Arts, Culture & Youth Affairs, Film stars Aadi Pinisetty & Nihal Kiran Dalwai, District Collector – Dr M Muthu Kumar, Persons with Disability – Ms Prabha, Development worker – Sr. Leena and many other prominent personalities have flagged the event from different parts of the country and supported the cause for Inclusion.

In Nepal, runners braved the cold wind and supported Run for Inclusion in Baglung and Baktapur cities. 

Likewise, this run was organized in a total of 30 cities in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan with a participation of more than 50,000 people. The resources mobilized through this mega event would be used for quality education of children and enabling better employment opportunities for youths from the poor and weaker sections of the society. 

Ask me.com was the national partner, Muktaksh iLEAD Resources Pvt. Ltd is the official event management partner while Zee News, Airtel, OCL India Ltd, Radio City- Chennai, Loyola College, Bisleri Water, JMA and Abhishek Hospitals are the regional partners of the event.

The run is one of the biggest community mobilization events in the South Asia region and is an extension of the Aide et Action International's Run Against Exclusion that already took place in Paris and Lyon - France, Chicago- US, Australia, China, Cambodia, Dominican Republic and Togo. Last year the run was organized in 58 cities in South Asia and was successful in mobilizing 1,00,000 people to participate in the run.
