Ess Dee Aluminum, one of India’s leading aluminium foil manufacturer, has bagged two awards in International Concept On Quality Convention. This international level event, held in Srilanka from 12th to 14th October 2014, witnessed more than 200 Teams participating from 13 Nations which included Korean Giants Samsung, Japan’s Toyota Motor , China’s Aero Space , Universities from Malaysia and Singapore.
“We are proud to have won two awards in International Concept On Quality Convention. Inspite of being the first timer, we achieved this feet in the International level. It’s s a big achievement not only for the employees but also for the organisation. We look forward to participating in the International Convention on QC Circles next year too” said Mr. Sudip Datta, Chairman, Ess Dee Aluminium.
The International Concept On Quality Convention is organised by the Quality Circle Forum. There were 4 award criteria, Meritorious, Distinguished, Excellent and Par Excellence with Par Excellence being the highest grade. Ess Dee Aluminium bags excellence awards & silver awards.
Ess Dee Aluminium was selected for this competition after winning the zonal and National level events. Two Teams from Ess Dee participated and both the teams got excellence awards, silvers, for their Projects in Six Sigma. One of the Project was Reduction in Waste and the other was Reduction in Downtime.
The Ess Dee Aluminium Unit 1 was represented by Mr. Sudipta Kundu, Mr. Sagnik Ghoshal, Mr. Iman Chatterjee & Mr. Umesh Lal Gupta whereas the Ess Dee Aluminium Unit 2 team was represented by Mr. Faisal TA, Mr. Satrajit R, Mr. SK Habibul & Mr. Prasanta Bose.
About Quality Control Circles: Quality Control Circles is a floor level problem solving mechanism which originated in Japan in the 1960s. It encouraged non-executive level employees to get together in groups, select problems to be tackled, analyze and determine root causes following a systematic method, generate alternative solutions, select and implement the best and standardize the new method if successful.
