Brickwork India, the Bangalore-based representative of Fairfax County, Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) in India, recently participated in an interactive “SelectUSA” investment program. It was organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) and the Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce (BCIC) in partnership with the US Commercial Service, an agency of the US Department of Commerce.
The goal of this event was to provide an opportunity to the Indian business fraternity to interact with US state representatives and officials and get to know various measures and support initiatives extended to start and expand business in the United States. The sessions also focused on providing firsthand information on the countless number of business opportunities for Indian companies across various US states.
Fairfax County was the only US County represented at the eve
nt. Eight states were represented by their economic development organizations: Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Missouri and
Washington. Indian firms from IT, biotechnology and renewable energy sectors attended. As part of the conference, Fairfax County and the US states exhibited. Brickwork India managed the Fairfax County stall.(see photo)
Sangeeta Kulkarni, CEO, Brickwork India, addressed the delegates. “Fairfax County offers access to federal decision makers, government projects, skilled human resources, premier research and develoment centres as well as enviable quality of life,” she said. “Indian companies on the verge of global expansion will do well to explore Fairfax County for their investment plans.”
Sangeeta’s address generated a lot of curiosity and enthusiasm for the business opportunities in Fairfax County.
