In brief
Steria has just concluded a contract with Norway Post – a Nordic mail and logistics Group – to assist the company in running a major IT transformation program covering their entire systems portfolio. The three-year contract will involve over 30 consultants.
Steria, a
leading provider of end-to-end IT-enabled business services, today announced the signature of a contract with Norway Post, to support their major IT modernisation program in order to change their entire systems portfolio as well as streamlining business process across all business units and subsidiaries.
The contract will run for 3 years and will involve over 30 consultants in Norway. Under the terms of the contract, Steria will act as project leaders, developers of functional and technical architectures as well as acceptance test leaders. The new streamlined IT systems portfolio will to a large extent be based on market leading 3
rd party software solutions. Steria will support in development of requirements and selection of solutions as well as design for integration into a coherent architecture.
Over the past years, Norway Post – which develops and delivers postal services, communications and logistics - has been facing new challenges like most postal organisations in the market. The former monopoly position of the company has come to an end under new regulations and liberalisation of the mail delivery market. Moreover, the company has encountered a drastic drop of traditional mail volumes.
In order to reach critical mass and to turn Norway Post into a highly competitive logistics company in an open market, the Group has acquired over the last decade several logistics companies in the Nordic countries. The objective of this modernisation program is to transform both the business operations and the IT portfolio into one coherent solution for the entire Norway Post Group. Steria consultants will work closely with Norway Post’s own program participants and act as the extended arm of the customer.
François Enaud, CEO Steria Group, expressed his enthusiasm:
“This new contract offers further confirmation of Steria’s expertise in helping private and public organisations meet today’s complex business challenges and running a successful transformation program.” Ingemar Karlsson, Senior Vice President Corporate Transformation at Norway Post: “
We selected Steria for their ability to provide a team of highly skilled professionals covering all the identified roles we needed to support the program. Also some of their consultants were previously working for our company and had an irreplaceable knowledge. We look forward to our on-going partnership, to meet all our business and customer requirements and to take the next step towards becoming the world’s leading logistics company
