Balasundaram is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, a Gold Medalist, with a brilliant academic record that includes an All-India First Rank in ICWA (Final). He joined Frost & Sullivan as Director-Finance in 2008. Prior to Frost & Sullivan he has held senior finance positions in some of the best companies in India and in South East Asia, including TATA Motors Limited, Larsen & Toubro Limited, to name a few. He is tech-savvy and has used various technology products to create value in various organizations, such as using Citrix to overcome the low speed of internet around 2000-01 to make an offshoring project a success, contributing to 100% automation of a US marketing office, implementing an ERP system, etc. He has also received the prestigious "Indira Gandhi Sadbhavna Award" in 2007 from the National Integration & Economic Council, New Delhi, for Outstanding Individual Achievements and Distinguished Services to the Nation.
